Meet Graham Norton , The Powerful Personality

Graham Norton is one of the UK’s most popular television personalities. Originally Graham Walker, he was born and raised in Cork, Ireland. As a young man, he moved to San Francisco to
live in a commune.

After spending time in the States, he
went to the UK to become a stand-up comedian. In 1996, he made a big splash on British television with his role as Father Noel on the highly-rated sitcom, “Father Ted.”

He went on to host two enormously successful BAFTA-winning chat shows, “So Graham Norton” and “V Graham Norton,” on the UK broadcaster Channel 4.

Graham then moved to the BBC where his work has included hosting “Strictly Dance Fever,” “Any Dream Will Do,” “How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria,” “I’d Do Anything,” as well as “The Graham Norton Show,” which launched its 10th season in fall 2011.

In July 2000, Graham was one of three judges of the Miss Lesbian Beauty Contest 2000 held at The Talk of London, Drury Lane. The contest was won by 42- year-old Carol Hutchins, who wowed the audience with her sit-down comedy routine from a wheelchair.
Graham described Carol as a "very bright, funny lady."

Awards and appeared on “Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List.”

Movie” (2006) and “I Could Never Be Your Woman” (2007), featuring Michelle Pfeiffer and Paul Rudd. In addition to his growing body of television work,
Graham translated his talents to the London stage when he starred in the West End revival of “La Cage
Aux Folles” in 2009. He issued “Ask Graham,” a collection of his Daily Telegraph columns, last year.

On 7 March 2013, Norton broke the Guinness World Record for 'The Most Questions Asked on a TV Chat Show' on Comic Relief's Big Chat which raised £1,022,982.
